I’ve recently become part of the LoveLula Accredited Blogger Programme and as part of that I receive the LoveLula Beauty Box*. I highly recommend the beauty box subscription – it’s only £13.95 and often the value of the products are more than double (or even triple!) this amount. There’s usually a good variety of different brands and products too, and of course everything is cruelty free and natural. The other thing I love about this beauty box subscription is you can use a voucher code to get 20% off purchases from the brands featured in the box that month. This is great if you fall in love with one of the items as you can buy more using the discount.
I’ve given each item a test over the last week or so and am sharing a mini review with you. I’ve shared written reviews in this blog post and also created a video so if you prefer to watch video reviews please see https://youtu.be/f6_UpZB3ypQ or embedded below:
Greenfrog Botanic Bodywash – Geranium and Peppermint * (worth £3.90)
This is a refreshing bodywash that’s cruelty free, vegan, and SLS free. It’s a nice enough product and cleanses and moisturises, and although the scent is a pleasant one, it’s not one I’d usually choose to purchase for myself.
PHB Ethical Beauty Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow – Almond* (worth £9.95)
This is a really lovely product. It’s a light cream shade with a small amount of shimmer which makes it very versatile. Not only can it be used as an eye shadow but it can also be used as a highlighter (though I haven’t tried this myself yet), and to add into the corners of your eyes to brighten and make you look more awake (which I have used a lot!). I find it creases when I wear it as an eyeshadow, but I get that with all eyeshadows if I haven’t used a primer. The packaging is great too – you get a mirror in the top of the box which is very handy for travel.
PHB Ethical Beauty Eye Shadow Brush * (worth £7.95)
I’ve don’t often wear eyeshadow, but with the right tools I quite enjoy blending eyeshadow. This is a fantastic blending brush. It’s incredibly soft, and it has a tapered end which works brilliantly for blending out in the crease. I can definitely see this being used whenever I wear eyeshadow – and the fact it’s from a cruelty free and vegan brand is even better. Highly recommend.
Ooh! Oils of Heaven Natural Tamanu Rejuvenating Facial Oil (travel size)* (worth £9.50)
I’ve used an Oils of Heaven oil in the past (from a previous beauty box) and really enjoyed using it. I stopped using facial oils (purely because I finished one and didn’t repurchase for a while) but have been using them more recently and my skin always seems to respond well to them. This is a new oil from the brand, and it’s a very interesting colour and scent. It’s deep green and very thick, but it soaks in easily and doesn’t leave a green hue to the skin. The scent is quite a nutty one, and some of the LoveLula Natural Beauty Club have likened it to curry, which I can definitely understand. It’s not an unpleasant smell though, and it doesn’t linger once applied. It does moisturise really well and I’m enjoying using it at night before my night serum (and sometimes in the day before my day moisturiser).
Glossworks Nail & Cuticle Oil * (worth £12.00)
I was delighted to find this in the beauty box this month as I had it on my wishlist and was very tempted to buy one. It came at just the right time as the night before my beauty box arrived I had removed my gel nail polish which always makes my nails dry. I applied this oil a few times over the next couple of days and it really helped to strengthen and moisturise my nails. All the dry bits soaked up the oil and they looked so much better after a few applications of the oil. Since then I’ve been applying it at night as I do find it a little oily for during the day (you only need a tiny amount so it’s easy to apply too much!). I really like this and will definitely be using it regularly.
This month’s beauty box had a great variety of different types of products – skincare, make up, body care, and nailcare. It’s always good to try new products and brands and I really enjoyed testing them out. The stand-out products for me this month were the Glossworks nail & cuticle oil and the PHB eyeshadow and brush.
