Madara SOS Instant Moisture + Radiance Hydra Mask

This month’s Lovelula Beauty Box* wasn’t the most exciting box for me (it included a liquid eyeliner which I don’t wear, and a lip liner in a shade that is too pale for me). However, the star of the show was the incredible Madara Instant Moisture + Radiance Hydra Mask* which on its own is worth £35! The box is such amazing value at only £13.95 per month, and there’s currently up to 20% off* if you purchase a subscription for 3, 6, or 12 months.

I’ve always been impressed with any Madara* items I’ve tried (I’m still absolutely loving the Anti-Fatigue Eye Rescue Cream* that was in the November box) so I had high hopes for this mask, especially as my skin tends to be dehydrated. The SOS range is designed for dehydrated skin and also helps skin look more fresh and radiant.

The mask can be used as a leave-on mask (which is how I’ve used it), or it can be removed after 15-20 minutes with a wet cloth or cotton pad. I’ve been using it as an overnight treatment and also used a little bit in the daytime recently when my cheeks felt particularly dry. It’s a fairly thick pink/peach colour cream which has a lovely subtle scent – I think it might be the peony you can smell. According to Madara, the Northern peony extract is one of the key ingredients in the range, chosen because it, “provides strong skin moisturising, conditioning, toning, antioxidant and skin smoothing effects, and protects skin from environmental damage and premature ageing”. The mask also has hyaluronic acid which my skin always seems to love as it really helps to hydrate.

As you apply the mask it initially goes to a white cream, but it soon soaks into the skin so it doesn’t look like you’re wearing a face mask. As I mentioned, I’ve not been taking it off – I’ve been using it as an overnight mask which was worked really well. When I wake my skin feels so soft and smooth and not at all dry. I’ve been using it every 2-3 days in place of my Laidbare From Dusk Till Dawn serum* to add an additional moisture boost. I’ve also been using a little bit as a primer when I’ve worn make up as it has such a smoothing effect.

It’s perfect for this time of year when many people have more dehydrated skin thanks to central heating and the temperature changes our skin is exposed to. I’m delighted with this product and highly recommend it. It’s not the cheapest item, but you only need a small amount and only need to use it a couple of times a week so I can see this lasting me a good 3-6 months.

Madara SOS Instant Moisture + Radiance Hydra Mask (60ml)* is available from LoveLula* for £35. There is also SOS Hydra Recharge Cream (50ml)* and SOS Hydra Repair Intensive Serum (30ml)* in the range.
