LoveLula February 2018 Beauty Box – Tried and Tested

As part of the LoveLula Accredited Blogger Programme I receive the LoveLula Beauty Box*. I highly recommend the beauty box subscription – it’s only £13.95 per month and often the value of the products are more than double this amount (this month the products value at over £60!). There’s always a good variety of different brands and products in the boxes, and everything is cruelty free and natural (like all LoveLula products). The other thing I love about this beauty box subscription is you receive a voucher code to get 20% off purchases from the brands featured in the box that month.

Mádara Exfoliating Oil-to-Milk Scrub* (60ml, £24.00)

Wow! This stuff is brilliant. I know some people don’t like the fact that many of the LoveLula beauty boxes include an item from Mádara but I’m delighted they do as so many of their products are fantastic and often things I wouldn’t think to try. I already have a facial scrub that I love (the Joik Exfoliating Facial Scrub* which I reviewed in December) so I wasn’t on the hunt for a new one but I think I might even prefer this. There’s certainly a place for it in my skincare routine. The scrub contains much larger particles than the Joik one and feels like you’re really cleansing your skin, but not in a harsh way. It’s an oil-to-milk formula so you are supposed to apply to dry skin but I confess I’ve been using it in the shower as well and it works great. I’ve managed not to mention it so far but I can’t resist any longer – the smell of this stuff is incredible. It smells like Love Hearts! This may seem odd and some people may not like it but I absolutely love it. The scrub also contains a number of different oils so it’s not at all drying as some scrubs can be. I’ve been using this 2-3 times a week and definitely plan to continue to do so. Love it!

Ooh! Organic Avocado Hydrating Face Oil* (30ml, £19.00)

I seem to be gathering quite a collection of face oils at the moment (never a bad thing!). This is the newest oil from Ooh! and is specifically designed for skin hydration. I’ll be honest, at first I wasn’t so sure about the scent of this one but it’s not offensive and I’ve definitely got used to it now. It absorbs into the skin well and doesn’t make me look shiny so I’ve been using this both morning and night since getting the box (as a serum step before moisturiser). It’s definitely helping keep any dryness at bay. I love facial oils and this is a great one to try for those of us with dry or dehydrated skin. You only need a few drops (I tend to use 4 per use) so this will last ages – I don’t know if I’ll ever manage to work my way through my growing collection of facial oils!

Pure and Light Organic Essential Face Cream* (15ml sample, full size is £34 for 50ml)

I had tried this before receiving the box as I was sent one to try as part of the LoveLula Accredited Blogger Programme. This moisturiser has won many skincare awards and I can see why as it works brilliantly on my combination skin. It helps to hydrate whilst also controlling oiliness and I’ve been enjoying using it. I have to be honest though, the scent isn’t my favourite (have you noticed scent is a big deal to me?!). Some people I’m sure would love it, but it’s a little too herbal for my liking. As with many skincare items though, I’m getting used to it and the benefits of the moisturiser definitely outweigh the minor drawbacks. I’ll be continuing to use this and will probably post a full review in future.

UrbanVeda Radiance Hydrating Toner* (150ml, £12.99)

Hmmmm. I’m not so sure on this one. A few people have expressed concerns over some of the ingredients in this, and although I’m not as strict as some people I am paying more attention to ingredients these days. This contains alcohol and it’s quite high in the list – I tried it out but found it drying so won’t be using this. I tend to prefer spray toners and I prefer ones that are gentle and hydrating. This one wasn’t for me so I’ll be passing it on to someone else.

Overall it’s been another fantastic box from LoveLula. The value of the items is over £60 and even though I won’t be using one of the items it’s still incredible value. You can subscribe to the LoveLula beauty box* in various different packages – I highly recommend it as it’s becoming a highlight of my month!
