As part of the LoveLula Accredited Blogger Programme I receive the LoveLula Beauty Box*. I highly recommend the beauty box subscription – it’s only £13.95 per month and often the value of the products are more than double this amount (this month the products are worth over £65). There’s always a good variety of different brands and products in the boxes, and everything is cruelty free (like all LoveLula products). The other thing I love about this beauty box subscription is you receive a voucher code to get 20% off purchases from the brands featured in the box that month.
Balm Balm Little Miracle Rosehip Balm* (30ml, £12)
I love Balm Balm products so was really pleased to see this new addition to the range in the beauty box this month. It’s a combination of their rosehip serum (which I love!) and the balm base (which I hadn’t tried). This product is a multi-purpose balm which to be honest I don’t tend to find as much use for as others do, but I will be keeping this in my bedside cabinet for when I have particularly dry patches. I tested a bit out on my elbows and it is really rich – a little goes a long way so I can see this lasting a while!
Inika Cream Eye Shadow – Champagne* (7ml, £21)
I don’t tend to wear a lot of make up – especially not eye make up, but if I do then this is the sort of product I tend to wear in terms of ease of applying and a subtle look. This cream eyeshadow is very subtle though, to the point where I’m not sure it’s worth me wearing it. Now admittedly it’s going to be very tricky to see on me as I have deep set eyes so you can’t see much of my eyelids, but even so it’s nice to have a shimmer when I blink but I don’t see much of anything with this other than a tiny sheen. If I apply more with a brush I do get a bit more shimmer. Also, it doesn’t crease so I think this might be a great primer/base for other eyeshadows.
Funny story – I made a complete mess of this the first time I opened it as I didn’t realise the lid had a concealed nozzle and I took off the whole lid 🤦🏻♀️ Once you open it properly it’s much easier to apply! 😂
Dr Botanicals Coffee Superfood Renewing Facial Exfoliator* (30ml, £14.90)
I have to be honest, I wasn’t too excited when I saw we had two Dr Botanicals items in this month’s beauty box as I’ve only tried one of their products before and didn’t love it. However, I absolutely love this!
It uses walnut shell powder as a physical exfoliant and has coffee oil to nourish the skin. It’s really rich and nourishing and doesn’t feel at all stripping on the skin as some exfoliators can do. I really like the combination of the scrub particles and the richness of the oils. It’s a real treat and smells amazing too. I use facial exfoliators in the shower and have a few on rotation at the moment but I think this one may have jumped to the top of my favourites list (I love the Mádara Exfoliating Oil-to-Milk Scrub* too, and the Joik Exfoliating Facial Scrub* for a more gentle scrub).
If you are interested in the coffee facial exfoliator, 50ml for £17.00* seems like a much better deal!
Dr Botanicals Kale Superfood Nourishing Day Moisturiser* (30ml, £14.90)
Hmmmm. I’m not sure about this one. I’m glad it doesn’t smell like kale, but I’m not sure there’s much for me to love about this one. It’s OK, but it’s nothing special in terms of experience or effectiveness. It does nourish my skin, but I wouldn’t say I prefer it to any of the other moisturisers I use, so I’ll be passing this one on to a friend.
Mádara 3 step skin boost – includes samples of Mádara Cleansing Milk* (200ml, £17.50), Mádara Brightening AHA Peel Mask* (60ml, £24.00), and Mádara Smart Antioxidants Fine Line Minimising Day Cream* (50ml, £35.00).
I know some people don’t like getting samples in their beauty boxes but I’m always grateful for them as my work means I have overnight stays sometimes and sachets are a great way to treat my skin whilst I’m away and keep my packing light. I’ve got the Brightening AHA Peel Mask (which I adore) but I hadn’t tried the other products before. The cleansing milk was effective and gentle (though I personally prefer a balm or gel cleanser) and the moisturiser was rich and nourishing. I know we get Mádara products fairly frequently in the boxes but I’m always glad as almost all of them are a hit with me!
Overall I loved this month’s box from LoveLula. The standout items for me are the Dr Botanicals coffee facial exfoliator* and the Mádara samples. The LoveLula beauty box is incredible value for money and has such a great variety of products. You can subscribe to the LoveLula beauty box* in various different packages – I highly recommend it as it’s a highlight of my month!
