The Mádara Brightening AHA Peel Mask* has been on my wishlist for ages and when there was a recent offer on Mádara products I decided to get it. I really wish I’d bought it earlier! This is now a staple in my skincare routine. So, what is it and why do I love it so much?
The mask contains AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) which exfoliate the skin and help keep it smooth. My skin has always responded well to these type of products though mostly I’ve used AHA toners before so I was really intrigued by how it would work in a mask.
It’s a fairly light consistency so it’s easy to apply, and it is translucent once applied. It dries quickly too and I love the fact I can use this when wearing my glasses (might seem like an unusual point to highlight but I often don’t use face masks as often as I’d like to because I’d get them all over my glasses!). After 10 minutes you rinse the mask away (not peel as I originally thought you might!) and because it’s fairly light it’s really easy to remove. My skin instantly feels smoother and after I apply moisturiser it feels amazing! It stays lovely and smooth for a couple of days after too.
You are recommended to only use this once or twice a week and not to leave it on your skin for longer than 10 minutes. I often leave face masks on for longer than recommended but I don’t risk it with this one! I’ve been using it about once a week when my skin is feeling a little rough. I use physical exfoliators in the shower (I’m using Joik Exfoliating Facial Scrub* at the moment), and the Pure & Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation* most mornings, but the AHA mask as a chemical exfoliator is so much more effective I find.
This has become a regular in my skincare routine and I highly recommend it.
A lightweight face mask to help smooth skin in just 10 minutes. Warning: May cause you to stroke your skin in amazement.
Yes, I will definitely repurchase this when it runs out (though I think it will last a while as I don’t use it that frequently and don’t need to use much each application).
