April empties (cruelty free brands)

It’s time for me to share my rubbish with you again! I’ve used up some great (and some not so great) products recently and it’s time for me to share my thoughts. If you prefer to watch a video, you can do so below or on YouTube:

Here’s a short review of each of the products mentioned…

Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser (177ml, £15.00) (get 10% off from this link*)
Effective cleanser that is very gentle yet effective, and leaves skin feeling nourished rather than dry. Sadly I found the scent very boring and didn’t find the experience anything to shout about.
Repurchase? Unlikely – it was effective but I have others that are as effective and more enjoyable to use (Oskia Renaissence Cleansing Gel for example).

Balm Balm Super Light Coconut Cleanser* (100ml, £14.50) (25% off with BALM25 until noon 1st May)
Lovely light oil cleanser which removes make up well and nourishes skin. I prefer the Balm Balm Beauty Balm which is richer and more nourishing; if you have oilier skin you may well prefer this.
Repurchase? Possibly, though I’m more likely to buy Balm Balm Beauty Balm*.

Omorovizca Queen of Hungary Mist* (50ml, £30.00)
Amazingly light facial mist which can be used as part of your facial skincare routine or as a refresh spray during the day. I used it as a toner and my skin loved it. I also really love the fine mist the bottle produces and will be reusing the spray with other products!
Repurchase? Not sure. I really loved this but it is a true luxury product rather than an essential. Maybe if I’m feeling like I want to treat myself.

Balm Balm Little Miracle Rosehip Serum* (30ml, £14.50) (25% off with code BALM25 until noon 1st May)
Gorgeous oil serum which nourishes the skin without it feeling or looking greasy. Perfect underneath moisturiser or CC cream.
Repurchase? Possibly, though I also really love the Joik Silky Facial Serum*.

Dr Botanicals Morrocan Rose Superfood Facial Oil (15ml, £19.90)
Lightweight oil (more like a floral water than an oil in my opinion). Smells great though I’m not sure it did anything for my skin.
Repurchase? Not for me; seems very expensive and not sure it’s as effective for me as other facial oils I like (I’m using Ooh! Avocado Oil* at the moment).

Pure & Light Organic Essential Face Cream* (50ml, £34.00)
Moisturiser for all skin types; packed with some amazing ingredients which I imagine help ensure it suits all skin. I used this as my daily morning moisturiser and really enjoyed it.
Repurchase? I currently have a full-sized tube of this so not at the moment but it does seem to balance my skin so I probably would repurchase.

Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Mud Mask (£2.99)
Single use face mask to help purify and detoxify skin. I’ve been experiencing some breakouts and this mask helped to calm them.
Repurchase? Yes – I loved this! Will be trying other Yes To products too.

B. Pure Sensitive Micellar Cleansing Wipes* (£1.49)
Basic and effective cleansing wipes – I tend to use these to fix make up mistakes (usually involving a bold lip colour I just can’t pull off).
Repurchase? Possibly; of the drugstore ones these are my favourite (though I prefer Pacifica Purify Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes*).

Giovanni 50:50 Balanced Hydrating-Clarifying Shampoo* (250ml, £7.99)
Amazing product. Does leave hair a little too ‘squeaky’ clean for my liking but as long as you pair it with a nourishing conditioner it’s great.
Repurchase? Probably; though at the moment I have another Giovanni shampoo, a colour toning shampoo, and a shampoo from my hairdresser all on the go.

Giovanni 50:50 Balanced Hydrating-Calming Conditioner* (250ml, £7.99)
Perfect partner to the above shampoo; works brilliantly on dry hair to nourish without weighing it down.
Repurchase? Again probably, but not for a while as I have numerous conditioners on the go.

Soap and Glory Smoothie Star Breakfast Scrub* (300ml, £8.00)
Incredibly scent and a heavy duty scrub – really helps to exfoliate whilst also moisturising (it contains shea butter).
Repurchase? Possibly not as I’m moving to more natural brands and ones I can be sure are cruelty free. I’m thinking of getting Joik Lemon and Vanilla body scrub* next.

Joik Raspberry Bon Bon Shower Oil* (200ml, £15.90)
Lovely scent though I found the shower oil tricky to use without spilling it or getting it in my eye!
Repurchase? Probably not; I don’t think shower oils are for me. Love the moisturising effect on the skin though.
