infuse My. colour shampoo

I mentioned the infuse My. colour Gold shampoo* in my April favourites and it definitely deserves a post of its own as I continue to be impressed with this product.

My hair is coloured and highlighted (to cover grey and make my hair more vibrant and interesting). I love it when it’s freshly coloured, but as it moves further from my natural colour (mid-dark brown) when I have lighter shades added it needs more looking after.

I’d started to look at toning shampoos but was struggling to find ones that were cruelty free, and ones that were aimed at keeping hair with a warmer tone rather than a cooler tone. I don’t want ashy tones to my highlights; I think it suits me better with warm, rich tones. I was feeling a bit frustrated about not being able to find what I wanted, when suddenly LoveLula featured a new brand on their website! The brand is cruelty free, made in England, vegan, and contains no parabens. Hoorah! Even better, they have a variety of different shades depending on how you want to tone your coloured hair (they are designed for coloured hair rather than natural hair).

I chose the gold one and couldn’t be happier. Look at the gorgeous shade! (It’s a clear bottle).

It’s very difficult to capture the result as the light changes so frequently, but this was a before and after photo the first time I used it:

I left it on my hair for about 3-5 minutes this time. Since then I’ve been experimenting with leaving it a bit longer. I would say you can get a stronger result if you use more product and leave it longer (you don’t need to leave it for long, I usually do just over 5 mins or so). It’s quite a thin consistency and I find it best to do the application in two stages to make sure I’m getting the roots and the ends.

It really helps keep my highlights warm-toned, and it seems to help disguise grey hairs too (not sure it is supposed to do this but it seems to which is a win!).

The other great thing is how soft and shiny your hair feels after using it. I use it with my regular conditioner, though there is also a special one to accompany these shampoos which I may try at some point.

I think this shampoo is amazing and such good value too. I’m using it around once per week and think this will last me a good 2-3 months.

In summary

An effective and easy to use toner for coloured hair to keep it looking fresh between colours.

Yes, I will definitely repurchase this when it runs out – it’s become a part of my regular haircare routine.
