LoveLula July 2018 Beauty Box

As part of the LoveLula Accredited Blogger Programme I receive the LoveLula Beauty Box*. I highly recommend the beauty box subscription – it’s only £13.95 per month and often the value of the products are more than double this amount (this month the products are worth £53). There’s always a good variety of different brands and products in the boxes, and everything is cruelty free (like all LoveLula products). The other thing I love about this beauty box subscription is you receive a voucher code to get 20% off purchases from the brands featured in the box that month.

My.Haircare Colour Treat Conditioner* (250ml, £18)

This isn’t a new product for me as I’ve already tried (and reviewed) the gold toning shampoo from this range and shortly after I purchased the conditioner. I use it every time I’ve used one of the toning shampoos (about once a week). It’s quite a strong smelling shampoo which I confess I don’t love, but it really does deliver. It’s designed to provide hydration, colour protection and shine and it certainly does. I love that I can tone and protect my coloured hair whilst using products that are cruelty free, paraben and silicone free, and even vegan. Definitely recommend this product as you only need a tiny amount and the look and feel of your hair after is so worth it! Great to have a backup of this for when my other one runs out.

Ooh! Oils of Heaven Organic Hemp Balancing Face Oil* (30ml, £19)

I do like a face oil, and this is a new one I’ve seen people talking about so I was pleased to see it in the box. I’m still working through the Ooh! Avocado Hydrating Face Oil* which we got a few months ago, so I’ll save this one for after the avocado one is used up, but I have given it a test and I quite like it. My initial impressions are that I don’t love the scent (though I often don’t with face oils initially and soon get used to them – it doesn’t linger once applied anyway). The hemp oil is designed to help balance skin, and my skin has recently become more oily so is more combination than dry now so I think this will really suit me. I used it today to test how it sinks into the skin and it’s great; absorbs well and doesn’t leave me looking shiny. I think this will be a popular item and I can see it becoming a well-loved product for me!

Balm Balm Face Balm (and more)* (30ml, £8.95)

We seem to receive quite a lot of multi-purpose balms in the beauty box and to be honest I don’t tend to be able to find a use for them often (ironic I know seeing as they can be used for so many things!).  This one isn’t particularly thick, but I applied some on my elbows (which are particularly dry at the moment) and it did seem to help. I tried it as a lip balm and it’s not really thick enough for me for that purpose. It is tea tree, and therefore antibacterial, so I’m sure this would be useful for cuts, burns, rashes etc. It’s perhaps more suited to those with children – I just never seem to use the balms more than once (other than the Lyonsleaf Calendula Cream* which is amazing on my occasional eczema). I’ll be passing this on to someone who is more likely to get use out of it.

Chobs Organic Aloe Sheet Mask* (25ml, £4.10)

I love a sheet mask! Really great to see this in the box as it’s a brand I haven’t heard of; now I’ve checked out Chobs on LoveLula* I see they have quite a few different types of sheet masks so I might have to try out more in future if I like this one. The aloe mask is focused on moisturising and there are also masks for different purposes (including a skin whitening one – it’s a Korean brand). I’m going to do as recommended and use this after it has been in the fridge. It doesn’t seem to take long to cool; I put it in the fridge about 15 minutes ago and it’s already chilled. That will be a lovely treat for tonight after my exercise class! 🙂

There are a few sample-sized products in the box this month which I haven’t tried yet but am looking forward to giving a go:

  • Apple & Bears Bergamot & Green Tea Hair & Body Wash* (300ml for £18) – this smells amazing, such a lovely citrus scent. I’ll be taking it with me to the gym to use in the shower there.
  • D’Alchemy Age-Cancellation Booster* (50ml for £42.78) – I’m not sure if this is a serum or a moisturiser, but I’m looking forward to giving it a test as it is designed for combination skin (it moisturises and also controls oiliness and helps blemishes).
  • John Masters Organics Rosemary & Arnica Body Milk* (236ml for £18) – I’ve tried a few John Masters products and they’ve been a bit hit and miss for me. I love their blood orange and vanilla body range though, so am looking forward to giving this a try.

Overall this month’s box from LoveLula was a good one for me; there’s only one item that I don’t think I will use and will pass on to someone else. The standout new item for me is the Ooh! Oils of Heaven Organic Hemp Balancing Face Oil* and I already know I love the My.Haircare Colour Treat Conditioner* and am glad to now have another. I really do love how varied the LoveLula beauty box is and how many great things you get to try. You can subscribe to the LoveLula beauty box* in various different packages – I highly recommend it as it’s a highlight of my month!
