LoveLula August 2018 Beauty Box

As part of the LoveLula Accredited Blogger Programme I receive the LoveLula Beauty Box*. I highly recommend the beauty box subscription – it’s only £13.95 per month and often the value of the products are more than double or even triple this amount (this month the products are worth £55). There’s always a good variety of different brands and products in the boxes, and everything is cruelty free (like all LoveLula products). The other thing I love about this beauty box subscription is you receive a voucher code to get 20% off purchases from the brands featured in the box that month which is great if you discover a product you love!

LoveLula Beauty Box – August 2018

Madara AHA Peel Mask* (60ml, £24.00)

I already have one of these thanks to an offer on the LoveLula site a little while ago. It’s not what I expected at all (I was thinking it would be a peel-off mask rather than an acid peel). The mask is a light consistency and easy to apply to skin. It can tingle slightly but isn’t painful, and you only need to leave it on your skin for 3-10 minutes. I usually do 10 minutes as my skin is fairly used to acid exfoliators. You simply rinse off and it leaves your skin lovely and smooth. I tend to use this about once a week, and definitely recommend it.

Bowe Organics Lash Oil* (10ml, £19.99)

This is a surprise; an item I have never heard of or thought I needed! The idea with this lash oil is that it nourishes your lashes and can help to thicken and lengthen due to the oils included in the mix. I have my lashes curled and tinted so don’t tend to do anything else to them, but I’ve been giving this a go and it does seem to soften my lashes. I don’t know if I’ll ever use the whole bottle though as one tiny drop is plenty for both sets of lashes and brows! A smaller bottle would be plenty for me.

Pure and Light Organic Skincare Revitalising Facial Exfoliation* (50ml, £28.00)

We got a sample size of this in the box and I was so pleased as I love this product! I had the full size (see my Pure and Light Skincare review) which featured in my recent empties. I am so impressed with this brand and this product. I love how gentle it is, both in terms of the cream consistency and in terms of the gentle exfoliation (which apparently is from crushed almonds!). I use this in the morning for a refreshing start to the day and my skin loves it – it helps me feel really clean (without being squeaky clean) whilst still nourished. So glad to have another of these; highly recommend this cleanser, especially for dry or combination skin.

Gallinée hand cream* (50ml, £11.90) and hydrating face cream* (30ml, £34.90)

What a nice surprise this sample set was! I’d not come across this brand before and to be totally honest from reading up on it I’m not sure I’m any the wiser. Apparently Gallinée are, “the first brand to take care of the skin and its protective bacterial ecosystem, the microbiome”. Right. Anyway, these are lovely products! I’m not usually fussed about hand creams but this one is so good; it absorbs really well and keeps my hands feeling so much softer than normal. The face cream smells *amazing* and suits my skin well, though I have lots of moisturisers I love so I’m not sure it would make it to my shopping cart given the price point. It is lovely though, and the hand cream will definitely be featuring in a future order!

Kimberly Sayer Ultra Light Facial Moisturizer SPF 30* (120ml, £26.50)

This is a cult product amongst LoveLula customers and I am one such customer. It’s a great moisturiser, particularly if you’re looking for something with a decent SPF that isn’t too heavy. I know some people don’t love getting sample sachet in the beauty boxes but I think it’s a great way to try things and especially when you can then take advantage of the 20% off discount from any brands in the box.

Overall this month’s box from LoveLula was a great one for me; I will be passing on the Madara peel but only because I already have one. I love the Pure and Light Organic Skincare Revitalising Facial Exfoliation* so am glad to have more of that, and I’m delighted to have discovered new brands; I’ll definitely be purchasing a full size of the Gallinée hand cream*. I say it every month but I really do love how varied the LoveLula beauty box is and how many great things you get to try. You can subscribe to the LoveLula beauty box* in various different packages – I highly recommend it as it’s a highlight of my month!
