It’s time to share my empties again – the products I’ve recently used up. I’ve been using up quite a lot of products recently which is a great thing as we’re moving house soon so I’m glad to not be taking lots of almost used up products. It’s therefore a bumper post – I’ve kept each review short and sweet 😊
Giovanni 2Chic Ultra-Moist Shampoo (£8.99, 250ml)*
Great value moisturising shampoo; really effective for my dry hair and safe for coloured hair. This has been my ‘everyday’ shampoo for a while and the one I use at the gym. Helps ensure my hair stays free from frizz, even without any styling products.
Repurchase? Possibly, though I’ve fallen in love with Green People Quinoa and Artichoke Shampoo* so I’m using that and the infuse.my.colour toning shampoos at the moment.
Giovanni 2Chic Ultra-Moist Conditioner (£8.99, 250ml)*
Great value moisturising conditioner which works great with the accompanying shampoo. Not too rich but moisturising enough to ensure my hair stays soft and free from frizz, even without any styling products.
Repurchase? Possibly, though I’ve fallen in love with Green People Quinoa and Artichoke Conditioner* so I’m using that and the infuse.my.colour conditioner* at the moment.
Superdrug Hair Therapy Oil with Coconut for Dry Hair* (50ml)
Lightweight moisturising oil – non-greasy which I can struggle to find in a hair oil. I really like this and used it on both wet and dry hair.
Repurchase? I don’t actually think you can get this anymore, so I’ve replaced it with the Superdrug Argan Hair Therapy Heat Protection Oil Treatment*.
Superdrug Crystal Anti-Perspirant Deodorant* (125ml)
Amazingly good value cruelty-free deodorant – this is my go-to deodorant if I ever need to buy some whilst I’m out or away.
Repurchase? I prefer to use natural deodorants, but this is certainly effective and great value so I’ll probably pick it up again.
Elsa’s Organic Skinfoods Ocean Deodorant* (45g, £10.00)
Elsa’s is one of the most effective natural deodorants I’ve tried. It’s concentrated so you only need a small amount and it lasts brilliantly well, even during intensive exercise.
Repurchase? Not this scent, but I’d probably get the Dew scent again as I love the freshness of it.
Schmidt’s Bergamot & Lime Natural Deodorant (19g, £5.00)
Another effective natural deodorant – very similar to Elsa’s in terms of consistency and performance. I really loved the scent of this one.
Lucky Cloud Nourishing Mini Cleansing Balm* (15ml sample, £8.00)
I love a good cleansing balm and this
Repurchase? Quite possibly – it’s one of my favourite balm cleansers and isn’t the most expensive I’ve tried (60ml is £21).
Laidbare DIY! Two in One Cleanser & Toner* (125ml, £6.99)
Repurchase? Possibly, if I was looking for a cheaper cleanser. It’s great but I have so many cleansers I love!
Pixi Glow Tonic To-Go (60 pads, £20.00)
These are so good. I’ve used the Pixi Glow Tonic in the past and my skin absolutely loves it; this version with pads is great when travelling. Probably not the most environmentally friendly way to exfoliate, but I love them for the convenience and portability.
Repurchase? Already have done, though am looking for more environmentally friendly options. Recommendations?
Mádara Exfoliating Oil-to-Milk Scrub* (60ml, £24.00)
I received this in the February LoveLula Beauty Box and loved using it. It’s a fairly ‘bitty’ scrub so I don’t know if it might be too harsh for sensitive skin,
Repurchase? Yes – I’ve got another of these which I’m currently using in the shower.
Gellinée Hand Cream* (5ml sample, £11.90 for 50ml)
I mentioned this in my review of the August LoveLula Beauty Box, and I still love it as much. The scent isn’t my favourite but it absorbs well and it really nourishes my hands. I use it at night.
Repurchase? Yes – I’ve purchased the full size of this and also received some samples in my order!
A’kin Certified Organic Rosehip Oil (3ml sample, 20ml for £18.00)
I received this in a skincare box from Naturisimo and have completely fallen in love. It smells amazing (not like rose) and is so nourishing without being greasy at all. It leaves my skin looking and feeling so smooth and soft. It has rave reviews and I can totally see why – so impressed!
Repurchase? I have so many face oils at the moment but this is definitely top of my list of ones to repurchase once I’ve used them up.
Joik Silky Facial Serum with cranberry seed oil* (30ml, £17.00)
This is another amazing face oil that I find moisturising and balancing. It provides a lovely base for moisturiser, both in
Repurchase? Possibly, though I’m most keen to repurchase the A’kin Rosehip Oil.
Formula Absolute Ultimate Sleep Cream (15ml sample, £22 for 50ml)
This is a cult product
Repurchase? Probably not; I have other night creams I prefer.
Pixi Beauty Blush Duo in Peach Honey (4.5g sample, £18.00 for 10.21g with kabuki brush)
I think this is quite possibly the first powder makeup product I’ve ever finished! It’s only a sample size but even so, for how infrequently I wear makeup it’s very unusual for me to use things up before they expire! I got this in an advent calendar last year and absolutely love it. It’s a gorgeous light glowy peach shade with a golden highlight. You can just use one side, or swirl both together. I tend to use a kabuki brush to swipe the powder and apply it to my cheeks so that the blush is slightly lower than the highlighter. I love the effect this gives – it’s not too much, just a lovely soft glow.
Repurchase? Yes – I’ve bought the full size and use it whenever I wear makeup.
Chobs Aloe Face Mask Pack* (25ml, £4.10)
Another item from the LoveLula Beauty Box, this time from July’s box. I like the convenience and ease of sheet masks, and this is a lovely moisturising one. I really enjoyed the cooling effect
Repurchase? Quite possibly, though I have lots of regular face masks to use up at the moment.
Wowzers, that was quite a list of empties! Maybe I’ll have enough to do these blog posts more regularly (it’s been two months since my last empties post). Have you tried any of these items? Would love to hear your thoughts, or if you have alternatives to any of these that you’d recommend.
