LoveLula November 2018 Beauty Box

As part of the LoveLula Accredited Blogger Programme I receive the LoveLula Beauty Box*. I highly recommend the beauty box subscription – it’s only £13.95 per month and often the value of the products are more than double or even triple this amount (this month the products are worth £66). There’s always a good variety of different brands and products in the boxes, and everything is cruelty free (like all LoveLula products). The other thing I love about this beauty box subscription is you receive a voucher code to get 20% off purchases from the brands featured in the box that month which is great if you discover a product you love!

LoveLula Beauty Box – November 2018

The Perfect V Essentials Gentle Exfoliator* (50ml, £31.00)

I’ll be honest, until I found out about this brand exfoliating my bikini area isn’t something I’ve ever considered. However, I’ve given it a go and it’s inspired me to pay a bit more attention to the products I’m using there and how I look after that area. The idea with the exfoliator is that it helps to keep skin soft and smooth and helps prevent issues from shaving. So far it’s worked well for me (especially before shaving). I wouldn’t say it’s an essential item, and it’s not the cheapest, but I’ll definitely continue to use it.

Alteya Organics Rosehip Seed Oil

Alteya Organics Rosehip Seed Oil* (20ml, £8.75)

I recently used up a small sample of the Akin Rosehip Seed Oil and absolutely loved it (I mentioned it in my September empties and my Morning Skincare Routine), so I was excited to see this in the beauty box. I use face oils morning and night, though as I only use a tiny amount they last me a long time (and we tend to get a few in the beauty box so I always seems to have 2 or 3 in my cupboard). I tried a facial toner from Alteya Organics a few months ago and didn’t love it, but this is a different story. I absolutely adore this oil. Rosehip seed oil helps to soften and soothe skin, and my skin absolutely loves it. I use about 3-4 drops of oil each time, and I find it sinks in really well and doesn’t leave my skin looking at all greasy or shiny. This oil is such great value too; I am definitely planning to continue to use it and am likely to repurchase. Highly recommend this!

UrbanVeda Purifying Exfoliating Facial Polish* (125ml, £12.99)

I really want to like this brand, though I’ve tried a few of their products now and haven’t always loved them. I use facial exfoliators in the shower, and have recently run out of one of my favourites (Madara Exfoliating Oil-to-Milk Scrub*) so this was well-timed in its arrival. I’ve used it a few times now and I’m just not loving the scent. The texture is great – it’s nice and creamy with exfoliating particles that smooth the skin without being too harsh. The smell however… it smells like paint stripper to me! It’s a mint-scented product and I don’t tend to love mint anyway, but this one really is strong and something I will be passing on to someone who prefers mint!

Natural Siberica Oblepikha Hand Cream* (75ml, £3.95)

I seem to have so many hand creams! I do use them fairly regularly but at the moment I’m collecting them much quicker than I’m using them. Natural Siberica is a brand I haven’t come across before and there has been quite a bit of talk about them in the LoveLula Natural Beauty Club on Facebook as they seem to have a variety of products at really good prices. This hand cream has a lovely scent (I think from the cranberry seed oil), and moisturises really well – I’ve been using it overnight as well as during the day. Great product and excellent value 🙂

Ren Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask* (50ml, £32.00)

I have a tricky relationship with Ren, as they’re owned by Unilever and therefore in my opinion not cruelty free (as Unilever test on animals). The brand themselves I believe do not test on animals, and they’re working to reduce the amount of plastic they use. Having enjoyed Ren masks I’ve tried in the past I was looking forward to trying it. I wasn’t disappointed. The mask leaves skin feeling really soft and smooth whilst not drying. Renewal is definitely how I’d describe it in terms of renewing the skin cells to improve your base. I found it was a great way to reset my skin ready for applying oil and moisturiser. As an aside, this is a great size for a beauty box – it’s a large enough sample to try it out for a few times to see if it’s something you’d like to buy.

Overall this month’s box from LoveLula was a great one for me; I will be passing on the exfoliating facial polish but the rest I am using and enjoying. With the exception of the scrub, I like all the items in the box this month though my favourites are the Alteya Organics Rosehip Seed Oil* and the Natural Siberica Hand Cream* (which are actually the cheapest items in the box!). I say it every month but I really do love how varied the LoveLula beauty box is and how many great things you get to try. You can subscribe to the LoveLula beauty box* in various different packages – I highly recommend it as it’s a highlight of my month!
