I haven’t shared my empties for a little while and there have been quite a few products I’ve used up. Some I’ve absolutely loved, others I’ve found OK. Here are some short reviews of what I’ve used up recently…
Green People Quinoa and Artichoke Shampoo* (£15.50) and Quinoa and Artichoke Conditioner* (£15.50)
I really like this shampoo and conditioner. I love that you can try Green People samples*, so I’d already had a few samples and mini tubes* of this before I committed to the full-size ones. I wasn’t sure of the smell at first but I grew to like it and I love the way it makes my hair look and feel. My hair is quite dry and this shampoo and conditioner leave it feeling lovely and soft and smooth and shiny.
Repurchase? Probably, but I’m trying a few others at the moment.
I don’t often use face wipes, but I do find them handy for overnight stays or for an initial cleanse if I’ve been wearing eye make up. These wipes were really effective and smell lovely, and they’re excellent value. They have a secure close which helps keep them fresh for longer too.
Repurchase? Probably, but at the moment I have some Superdrug own brand ones.
This came in a LoveLula Beauty Box* and was a bit of a surprise as I didn’t expect to like it but loved it! It’s a bi-phase toner that I find incredibly effective at smoothing skin without drying it out too much. I used it every morning as a more gentle toner than my evening retinol toner.
Repurchase? Quite possibly; my skin seemed to really like it and it was great for under serum. I’m using Pixi Rose Tonic* at the moment but think I prefer the Joik.
Madara Exfoliating Scrub Oil to Milk* (£24.00)
Another LoveLula Beauty Box* item. I love the scent of this one; it’s like sweets. It’s also an effective scrub without being too harsh on the skin. I didn’t notice the oil-to-milk aspect although as I used the last of it there was more of a milky consistency, so I wonder if I should have shaken before each use.
Repurchase? Yes, I have already repurchased.
MOA Fortifying Green Bath Potion* (£27.50)
Yet another LoveLula Beauty Box* item (they’re so great!). I wasn’t sure about the scent of this at first but soon grew to love it. It’s a concentrated product so you don’t need much in each bath. My partner loved this too so it was actually him that used most of it up!
Repurchase? Possibly, though at the moment I’m enjoying bath bombs.
Pai Deep Cleanse AHA Mask* (£30.00)
This came in a mini samples box from
Repurchase? Probably not; it’s nice but there are plenty of other products that do as good a job if not better.
Another LoveLula Beauty Box* item, and one that initially I didn’t like because of the scent. It grew on me though, and the effects were definitely worth it. This oil is really hydrating without being too oily; it sinks into
Repurchase? Possibly, though I have so many face oils now and prefer a serum in the morning so am not using them as quickly at the moment.
I enjoy trying this sort of deluxe sample size product. This was one where I didn’t mind it (so used the full sample) but didn’t love it either (so am glad it was only a sample!). I did quite like the very initial feel of my skin after using it, but I didn’t much enjoy using it as the scent and texture wasn’t massively to
Repurchase? Unlikely; I much prefer the Evolve Hyaluronic Acid Serum.
Antipodes Divine Face Oil* (£18.99)
I’m not sure about this one. I found it left my skin very shiny so perhaps didn’t soak in as much as I’m used to, and it wasn’t my
Repurchase? Unlikely; I have many other face oils that I prefer.
Macho & Bling Face Scrub* (£6.50)
Another LoveLula Beauty Box* item. This one was quite a grainy scrub, but it wasn’t too rough for my face. I liked the smell (Grapefruit) as I found it invigorating to use in a morning shower.
Repurchase? Probably not; there wasn’t anything wrong with this but I have other scrubs I much prefer (loving the new PHB Coffee Bean Scrub and Mask* at the moment).
Madara Time Miracle Total Renewal Night Cream* (£42.00)
I got this in a Madara Insider Beauty Box and really enjoyed using it. I didn’t love the fact it was green-blue and took a little while to sink in, but I really loved the way it made my skin feel – both after application and in the morning. It helped nourish and soften my skin and I’d definitely recommend this night cream.
Repurchase? Not at the moment as I’m trying a couple of other night creams (Dafna’s Skincare Nutrition Night Treatment* and Antipodes Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream*), but this is one I’d definitely consider buying in future.
So there we have it; my recent empties. What have you used it recently that you loved?
