Antipodes cleansers

I’m an active member of the LoveLula Natural Beauty Club on Facebook, and have heard so many people recommend Antipodes products*. I decided to give them a try myself and tested two cleansers. I’ve been using them for a while now and have given them a good test so it’s time to share my verdict (spoiler: I like them!).

My skin is combination – it’s fairly dry but can get oily so I don’t like to use cleansers that are too drying or leave it shiny. I don’t get many blemishes but do get the occasional one or two. I cleanse twice daily; once in the morning and once at night. I tend to use gel cleansers in the morning and richer, more nourishing cleansers at night.

Antipodes Juliet Skin-Brightening Gel Cleanser

Antipodes Juliet Skin-Brightening Gel Cleanser

Antipodes Juliet Skin-Brightening Gel Cleanser* is targeted at normal/oily skin and is designed to balance oil and enhance glow. From the description:

Antipodes Juliet Gel Cleanser contains extracts from the New Zealand superfruit kiwi and vibrant hibiscus flower that exfoliate skin leaving it clean, clear and blemish free. Manuka honey has antibacterial powers and antioxidant-packed Vinanza Grape which work together to help reduce and balance oil production, giving your skin a radiant glow. Lightly scented with refreshing green apple and cardamom.

It’s quite a liquid consistency, not a particularly thick gel. I found that it was a bit tricky to dispense just a small amount so I worked my way through the bottle quite quickly. I loved the product though. I found the scent refreshing, and it left my skin feeling lovely and refreshed without feeling at all dry. It foams up nicely and feels nice to use on the skin, and leaves a nice smooth base for other products.

Antipodes Hallelujah Lime and Patchouli Organic Cleanser

Antipodes Hallelujah Lime & Patchouli Cleanser

Antipodes Hallelujah Lime and Patchouli Organic Cleanser* is targeted at dehydrated skin and is designed to remove impurities, promote glowing skin, freshen and uplift. From the description:

A base of organic avocado oil gently removes impurities while carrot seed oil promotes skin that glows with good health. Highest quality essential oils of lime and patchouli work wonderfully to cleanse, freshen and uplift. Carrot seed oil revitalizes and clears skin’s surface. Avocado oil high in Omegas 3 and 9 is extremely nourishing. Jojoba protects and conditions.

This one has a pump dispenser so is much easier to use (I still have plenty left). It’s a fairly thick cream cleanser and works well as a night time cleanser to massage into skin. I find the lime scent a little strong for my taste, but it’s not too off-putting. The cleanser does leave my skin feeling nourished and works well as a night cleanser before my serum/oil and night cream.

In summary

Two fantastically effective cleansers from Antipodes; Juliet Skin-Brightening Gel Cleanser* is a lightweight gel cleanser that smooths and balances skin and Hallelujah Lime and Patchouli Organic Cleanser* is a thick cream cleanser that nourishes and conditions skin.

Repurchase?

I’d definitely repurchase the Juliet gel cleanser. Possibly the Hallelujah one too, although cream cleansers aren’t my favourite type of cleanser. I’d love to try the Antipodes Grapeseed Butter Cleanser* as in the past I’ve really liked thick butter cleansers.
