Botanicals skincare

I was recently contacted by Botanicals skincare who generously offered to send me a sample to test and review. This is a brand that are stocked at LoveLula*, and one that I have been keen to try so I accepted their kind invitation. Based on my skin type and preferences, they selected the Nourish Cleanse Melt* for me to try (and also sent a Gentle Facial Polish which was a mistake but they kindly let me keep too).

Botanicals Nourish Cleanse Melt and Gentle Face Polish

Botanicals products are all cruelty free, certified organic, and vegan friendly. The products are hand made in England in small batches. I love to support smaller brands with good ethics so was really looking forward to trying Botanicals. So what did I think?

Botanicals Nourish Cleanse Melt* (60g, £26.00)

Botanicals Nourish Cleanse Melt

As I may have mentioned (maybe a couple of times 🙈) I love a balm cleanser. As you can see from the photo, the Nourish Cleanse Melt* is a nice thick balm and it’s a fairly smooth consistency though does have some graininess initially (I like this as when I massage it in it goes smooth and oily and I know I’ve worked it in). The scent of this is really nice – even though it’s all natural products it has a fresh scent (rather than a more herbal one) and it’s one of the few natural products that my partner actually actively likes the scent of!

As you’d guess from the title of the cleanser, it’s a nourishing product and leaves skin feeling lovely and soft and smooth. It’s an effective cleanser too; though I don’t often wear make up so can’t comment on how effective it is at removing make up.

I find this really enjoyable to use and very effective; it’s definitely a product I’d recommend and is one I’ve been reaching for on a very regular basis. Long term it seems to be doing my skin a lot of good too 🙂

Botanicals Gentle Face Polish (60g, £25.00)

Botanical Gentle Face Polish

This is a really interesting product! It’s a very gentle facial exfoliator in balm form. It’s recommended to use this after cleansing, though it will help to deep cleanse too.

As you can see, the exfoliating particles are only tiny hence it being such aa gentle polish. I can see this being fantastic for people with more sensitive skin.

Again it’s a lovely scent, and feels really good to massage into your skin. I’ve been using it a couple of times a week and my skin seems to really like it.

In summary

I really like both these products and can see why Botanicals are winning a number of awards. I’d love to try more of the range and will certainly be keeping an eye out for other products I might enjoy. My favourite was the Nourish Cleanse Melt* which I’ve actually already used up (always a good sign as I have so many cleansers I switch between so must have chosen to use this one a lot!).

The muslin cloth (in the background of the photos) is also really lovely and fabulous for helping to thoroughly cleanse and smooth skin. I’ve been really enjoying using it.

At the moment I have a number of other cleansers I’m testing so I won’t repurchase straight away, but the Nourish Cleanse Melt* is definitely now going on my list of cleansing balms that I would repurchase for sure.

The Gentle Facial Polish I’m not so sure I’d repurchase for me personally as it’s almost too gentle, but I’d most definitely recommend this for anyone with sensitive skin.
