As part of the LoveLula Accredited Blogger Programme I receive the LoveLula Beauty Box*. I highly recommend the beauty box subscription – it’s only £14.95 per month and often the value of the products are more than double or even triple this amount (this month the products are worth £61). There’s always a good variety of different brands and products in the boxes, and everything is cruelty free (like all LoveLula products). The other thing I love about this beauty box subscription is you receive a voucher code to get 25% off purchases from the brands featured in the box that month which is great if you discover a product you love (or you want to try something else from the brand). So what was in the July box?
Madara Eye Contour Cream* (15ml, £26.00)
I’ll be honest, eye cream is something I’ve never yet integrated into my skincare routine. It’s one of those things I know I probably should do (especially as I’m 35 and have dark circles and fine lines), but I already have lots of different steps in both my morning and evening skincare routine and I just don’t ever bother to stick to an eye cream. One issue I’ve found in the past is not loving eye creams in pots. This one isn’t in a pot! It’s a nice little dinky pump applicator which I much prefer. As with many eye creams, a little goes a long way so you only need the tiniest amount (not even a full pump). Because of this, the 15ml I’m sure will last ages! Madara say the eye cream hydrates and leaves skin smooth and illuminated, and I’d agree with that. It has a very slight sheen to it (almost invisible, but definitely helps to brighten). It’s a lovely fresh scent and feels nice to apply to. I’m going to do my best to stick to using this regularly, even if it’s just at night.
Inika Lip Glaze in “Rosewood”* (5ml, £18.00)
This is a really interesting product. It’s full of natural oils, and feels very much like the Inika Lip Serum* (which I’m testing at the moment as one of my August blogger picks). It feels really lovely and not at all sticky (a bugbear of many when it comes to more glossy lip products). No getting your hair stuck to your lips with this! The downside of this is it never really feels like it sets, so it’s not the most long lasting lip product. It’s easy to reapply though so as long as you don’t mind that it’s not an issue. I love the shade, though it is quite metallic so you don’t need a lot! It actually looks fairly subtle if you just apply a small amount. LoveLula say you can also use this on top of lipstick and I can imagine it works well in this way too. I’m surprised by this as it isn’t something I would have purchased but I can see myself using it a lot!
Laidbare In Safe Hands* (50ml, £6.99)
It’s lovely to see a Laidbare product in the beauty box again. We had some of this brand in the past, and I’ve loved some of their products as they’re really effective and such great value. I reviewed six of their products on my blog early last year (standouts for me are Spot the Difference* and From Dusk Till Dawn* which I might stock up on whilst the 25% off beauty box offer is valid). Anyway, to the hand cream… It’s designed for very dry hands and says it’s the “ultimate intensive moisture cream”. I’ve used it a couple of times now and I really quite like it. One of the things I find with hand creams is that they can be very greasy, and I like this one because it absorbs really well and doesn’t leave residue on the hands. The smell is a bit unusual; my partner tried it and said it smelt like cooking oil which I’m guessing is because it has sunflower oil (he wasn’t impressed with the scent for this reason! 🙈). I don’t mind it as much but wouldn’t say I love the scent. It’s not a luxury product, but it is an effective hand cream that I think would be suitable for most people.
Nature’s Kitchen Rescue Cream* (50ml, £8.99)
Nature’s Kitchen is another brand I have reviewed recently – I tried the Nature’s Kitchen Introductory Skincare Kit* and blogged a review of each of the items within it. They’re a new brand to LoveLula, and another more affordable one. The gentle therapy rescue cream is designed to reduce inflammation and skin flare-ups. I haven’t had a reason to use it yet, but have tried a bit on my hands and it seems very rich so I’m sure it would be good for very dry skin. It doesn’t have a strong scent so probably a good one for those more sensitive to scents.
This month’s box was a so-so box for me. I’m not super excited by the products, but I will use the Madara Eye Contour Cream* and I’ll definitely use the Inika Lip Glaze. I’ve been receiving the LoveLula Beauty Box for over a year now and I still absolutely love it; I’ve discovered so many great products and it’s such good value. You can subscribe to the LoveLula beauty box* in various different packages – I highly recommend it as it’s a highlight of my month!
