Hi. I am so excited. Today is your first part of the Two Leaders Programme. Over the next few weeks we are going to be working through different areas of the TRUE model. So that is Trusting, Reflecting, Understanding, and Empowering and with each of those will we will explore them. Explore what it means to you, what impact it has on you, what impact it has on others, and how you can better utilize your knowledge in that area to help you in your life. Before we start, as a little bit of pre-course work to get you ready for the programme, you will see that you have been given a sheet and some information on there. This video is to accompany that just to give you a little bit of background between what to expect and also to help you with the pre-course work.

The first thing is thank you and congratulations for making this commitment to you. This is for your life. This is for the rest of your life. The things that you will learn in this programme will help you however you apply them. Whether that be in your working life, whether that be in your home life, whether that be across different parts of your life. It will benefit you if you put the time in and you commit to that change for yourself. They do not need to be big changes. They can be small mindset changes, but the impact can be huge. So, well done for making that commitments.

Each day you will have a short video, no more than five or ten minutes long for each one, and you will be able to just delve a little bit deeper into learning more about yourself. Then, spend a little bit of time thinking about what impact that has on you and maybe test something out during the day or during the next few days to just see how it goes. The one thing that I wanted to really stress at this point is to enjoy it as well. This is for you. So, please enjoy the programme. I am here to support you through the programme. This is a culmination of everything that I have learned over the last few years to do with leadership and coaching and it helps me on a daily basis. This is stuff that I live every day and I love to help other people with this. If at any point you would like any support, please get in touch and you can use the Facebook group as well so we can get some support for everybody from that Facebook group. So enjoy it.

The other thing that I want to talk about is just to be cautious of where you are at with things and honour where you are at with things. Cautious is perhaps not the right word, but what I mean by that is just a level of self-awareness. You will see in your pack that I have given you a model that I refer to on a very regular basis and it is about your comfort zone, your stretch zone, and your panic zone. The idea with this programme is to take you to that stretch zone, that learning zone, the centre piece. You have got your comfort zone in the middle. It is quite small. It feels comfortable. It feels cosy, but it does not allow you to be the amazing person that you are. But then, if we go further outside of that, we stretch ourselves a little bit. We talked about that, don't we? We talk about stretching ourselves, and I would love to encourage you to stretch yourselves. Whether that be on a day-to-day basis or overall in the programme, just to stretch yourself, just a little bit. What that will do is broaden your horizon slightly and it give you the opportunity to put some of this into practice and you will find that actually some of those things that were a bit of a stretch become part of your comfort zone. Your comfort zone gets bigger and you are able to do a lot more of the things that you love doing.

What you need to be cautious of, and that is why I used the word caution, is to not go too far outside. If we change too much at once, we can go too far outside of that stretch zone or that learning zone, outside of the sweet spot and we give in to what we refer to as the panic zone. You can probably think of occasions where you have got into your panic zone. Think about what happens. Normally we will either freeze and not know what to do at all or we will do it fight or flight. The fight or flight response, which is are we going to fight against it or we just go away from it? I do not want you to get to that panic zone point. If there is anything that we do during the programme, anything that feels like it is too comfortable, or anything that feels like you are pushing towards your panic zone, just think about how best to adapt it for you to keep in that sweet spot and keep in that learning zone. So, that is one thing that I want to kind of set as a scene setting thing for the whole programme is just for you to check in at regular points a few hours and see how you are doing.

To start off the programme, you have seen that you have got a little worksheet to do. That is really about helping you understand what were the reasons behind doing this programme. You have invested in yourself to do this programme. What was it that led you to do that? What were the reasons behind that? What do you want to get out of it? And there are some reflection points on your worksheet to help you to think about what it is that you would like to get out of this programme. Also, if there are any ways that you can maximize your learning experience to help you get the most from that, so it could be about setting aside time, it could be about support from other people, it could be about challenging yourself in certain ways. There is no right or wrong to this. It is a personal journey. It is whatever feels right to you, but please spend some time before you get stuck into the programme thinking about the reasons behind doing it for you and what you can commit to ensure that you can make the most of this learning experience. It is an amazing opportunity for you and I really want you to get the most from that opportunity.

So that is all for now. Just spend a little bit time thinking about the programme, thinking about what you would like to get from it, and I look forward to seeing you in the next video. As I mentioned, we have got Trusting coming up next. We are going to spend some time thinking about those. You have got five videos in the area of Trusting, five videos on the area of Reflecting, five videos in the area of Understanding, five videos in the area of Empowering and then a little bit of work to kind of consolidate all of that together. So make the most of the experience and if you want to get in touch at any point, please do feel free to get in touch with the Facebook group. Hope you find this useful, and I cannot wait to help support you and see what you get out of this programme. It is going to be amazing. Take care and have an amazing day. Bye.
